Review: Girl Trek's - The Daughters Of Campaign

The Daughters Of Campaign

By: Girl Trek

“I'm Wonderful! Just keep - the f*ck - saying it!”
 ~Nikki Giovanni

Hey Dearies,

Whew chile the #GirlTrek #DaughtersOf campaign is in full swing and I'm an episode behind. Today I watched the first installment with Angela Davis & Nikki Giovanni and all I could do was throw up my hands to sweet baby Jesus. Auntie Nikki was on a roll 🙆🏽‍♀️ and Auntie Angela still has that 🔥. I also found it very endearing how excited Morgan and Vanessa were to be talking to their Shero's! Their excitement was palpable and made me just as giddy as they were. 😂

𝐖𝐡𝐨: #GirkTrek is a health and radical-care movement created by Morgan Dixon and Vanessa Garrison for black women and children, check out their powerful TED Talks.

📌The trauma of systematic racism is killing black women
📌The most powerful woman you've never heard of

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭: The #DaughtersOf campaign is not only encouraging black women to 𝐒𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 in remembrance of their lineage; it is encouraging us to have the important conversations about life, health, self-care, community, food and culture!

𝐇𝐨𝐰: By pairing together daughters of Influence, Culture and Activism for thought provoking conversations, they drop gems of goodness all over the place. Be warned, the guests are Real, and they give it to you straight...no-chaser. Please wear your big girl pants and be prepared to take notes.

Who am I the Daughter of...

I am 𝐊𝐚𝐲𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞, Daughter of 𝐕𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐲, Daughter of 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞, Daughter of 𝐁𝐞𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞. The lessons I have learned from my mom and maternal grandmother are those of resilience... regardless of the obstacle! Whether it's paying and negotiating bills, making a full meal out of very little and seemingly unmatched ingredients, or standing up for what I believe. My mother(s) have taught me to find a way to PUSH ALL THE WAY THROUGH, every time.
